Professor Paul Butler joined Steve Chenevey, DC Fox 5's morning news co-host, to discuss the appeal of the conviction and sentencing of John Allen Muhammad, also known as the D.C. sniper, who represented himself at trial. He was convicted of six counts of first-degree murder and sentenced to death in 2006. He now appeals on the grounds of ineffective assistance of counsel, improper barring of mitigating evidence by the judge, and inappropriate withholding of evidence by the prosecution.
